Welcome to Sai Yoga

Yoga originated in India. The word Yoga means 'Union' in Sanskrit - the ancient Indian Language. To provide a simple definition for Yoga, Yoga is the sublime union affected between physical faculties and the spirit. Most people misconcieve it as merely a set of exercising postures. The physical activity is only the minor part of it. Streamlining the spiritual resources so as to make them function in a supercharged pace and rythm is the major task attained by yoga. It provides strength and flexibility to the body as well as exotic boost in awareness, magnificent enhancement to the will power and overall sense of well being.

Asanas, are the common name for the physical activity carried out as part of yoga. In the west, in most contries, the words Yoga and Asanas are used interchangeably.

There are quite a few different Yoga traditions, and while the spirit remain the same across different traditions the methods and intricate tactics of practise vary widely from teacher to teacher. Yoga taught in a physical rehabilitation center may concentrate on the workout side of it while that taught at a traditional Yoga center tend to relish the tackling of spiritual and mental entities.

The physical workout by itself is performed in different pace and style to accommodate specific needs. The poses shall be done in rapid succession so that the body heat is released and surplus energy is burned out, or it can be done in a slow pace to buildup stamina and develop extreme flexibility of the muscles.

Apart from the physical workout sessions Yoga Classes may also include meditation, instructions on various breathing techniques, and inspirational reading by the teacher. The student may opt to use the low level physical activity as the gateway for stepping into the superior realm of spiritual ecstacy, or rather remain contend with the feel-great amplitude provided by the bodily exercises.

Sai Yoga is a Traditional Yoga teaching and meditation center endeavouring to bridge both the aptitudes. Physical and spiritual variations of Yoga are provided not according to the temperament of the teacher but depending on the specific needs of the student. Both planes are given somewhat equal devotion, the swing towards the one or other is administered according to carefully charted schedule and exogism.
